The roots of Casa del Sol run deep. At the heart of everything we do is a love for the Spanish language, Latin American culture, and the power of community. We’re passionate about creating learning experiences that are fun, immersive, and designed to get you speaking conversational Spanish within just a few weeks. While we emphasize real-life communication, our classes support all four key language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Casa del Sol began in 2005 as a one-woman project when founder and teacher Jocelyn Lovick was living and teaching in Mexico. What started as a love for teaching Spanish and adult ESL has grown into a vibrant, multi-level language school based in the Twin Cities — offering six levels of Spanish language and culture classes, along with personalized private and small-group instruction.

But Casa del Sol is more than just a place to learn Spanish. Jocelyn’s deepest passion lies in building community — creating spaces where people not only grow in their language skills, but also feel seen, heard, supported, and celebrated. Here, learners connect, reflect, and root into a shared experience that honors culture, identity, and belonging.

In 2024, Casa del Sol expanded to include curated group travel experiences in Latin America, offering students the chance to live the language while exploring the culture firsthand. These immersive trips are designed to deepen connection, inspire joy, and bring people together in meaningful and unforgettable ways.
